Koleksiyon Ideation Workshops: Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th May
Last week we ran two co-design workshops with furniture design studio Koleksiyon as part of Clerkenwell Design Week.
We had great fun and were really pleased to have participants from a range of creative and commercial backgrounds including user experience, textile and furniture design and design educators.
Together we worked through a collaborative design process which sought to generate new design and service concepts in response to contemporary cultural trends, utilizing physical products and furniture as foundational elements of these propositions.
Concepts generated in the first workshop session were refined and built upon in the second and each workshop concluded with a presentation back to the group.
We’ll be sharing outputs from the workshops shortly and encouraging further conversation around the concepts created and the challenges in staging future participatory design processes.
Thanks to everyone who came along and to Koleksiyon for being great hosts.

We’ve teamed up with furniture design studio Koleksiyon to promote collaborative design as part of Clerkenwell Design Week. These collaborative sessions will bring together participants from a range of creative and commercial backgrounds to work through a collaborative design process and generate innovative new design and service concepts, which build on the company’s product range and manufacturing capabilities.
Clerkenwell Design Week is London’s premier celebration of design and brings together a varied programme of events including debates, discussions, presentations, exhibitions, installations, street parties and workshops.
Clerkenwell Design Week is all about embracing design so it seems fitting that two very different disciplines are coming together to celebrate the co-creation of design.
Koleksiyon is a successful furniture design studio established in Turkey in 1972. They will be launching their new London studio during the event and we will be helping them celebrate by running two creative workshops.
Wednesday 25 May 12.00-13:30: Koleksiyon ‘Ideation Workshop’ - first of two ideation and design workshops. Participants will divide into workgroups to explore new experiences and services which build on Koleksiyon’s product range. We will be splitting into workgroups and running a show and tell of our ideas at end of the session.
Thursday 26 May 12.00-13:30: Koleksiyon ‘Ideation Workshop’. In the second workshop participants will pick up the ideas generated in the first workshop and split into workgroups to refine, build on and detail these concepts into more resolved product and service proposals. The workshop will conclude with an elevator pitch of each group’s work.
These sessions will be fun and hopefully exercise your creative muscles and also give you some new techniques for generating ideas.
We call this type of workshop an ideation session. They are a tool we use to help expand our thinking outside of the most obvious or literal interpretation of a client brief.
We are now full for this event. If you would like to be added to the reserve list please email Rachel Buck.
